Milia

also called milk spots. These are tiny epidermoid cysts.

Milia are tiny cysts filled with keratin which form just under the epidermis (the top layer of the skin). They are most commonly found around the eyes and nose but can occur on and around the genitals.

Whilst in babies and children they often spontaneously resolve, in adults they are unlikely to disappear and can be unsightly. Milia can be confused with comedones (whiteheads) which prompts attempts to squeeze them which can lead to soreness and scarring. Because of their pale colour, they may be especially noticeable on dark skin.

Removal by ACP for milia is a highly successful treatment as it is almost painless, instant and leaves no visible scarring or pitting providing the aftercare advice is followed correctly.
